Gemina lunch plate no. 41/14612 – Royal Copenhagen

Royal Copenhagen Gemina, designed by Gertrud Vasegaard and went into production in 1962, alongside Gemma, which has the same basic shape as Gemina, which means twin (Twin tableware). Gemina is a grey stoneware tableware with hand-painted blue ornaments on the rim and a blue ring in the middle. Gertrud Vasegaard wanted there to be iron specks in her tableware because it looked as natural as possible, and so there would not be second or third sorting. Normally at Royal Copenhagen, a magnetic filter was used to remove iron particles from the clay. Royal Copenhagen, however, kept the sorting.
