Thorvald Bindesbøll (1846–1908)

Danish architect and one of the most important figurines in Skønvirke (Art Nouveau). He is known for ceramics with strong, organic, and abstract patterns as well as for the Carlsberg label.

L. Hjorth

Founded in 1859 in Rønne by Lauritz Hjorth. The factory became known for terracotta and later stoneware. Black-fired terracotta was introduced in the 1880s. After Lauritz’s death in 1912, his sons Peter and Hans continued production.
